Eulogy written by Dakota’s father and stepmother, Wayne and Brandy Bowling

Cody was full of life. He loved fishing, 4-wheeling & riding bikes. These things were his happy places. But his family is what made him the happiest. He loved his kids unconditionally. He kept a smile when he spoke about them. They were his everything. He also loved his nieces and nephews; they loved him more than words can explain. He was so proud to be a dad and uncle.

His best friend was his dad, Wayne. He always looked up to him and wanted to be just like him. They shared a special bond and a love nothing can compare to.

His sister Sierra was his favorite person. They loved giving each other a hard time. She even stabbed him in the stomach when they were kids. He loved showing people the mark. Once they got started, we would laugh at them for hours.

He and his brother Tyler loved playing video games and guitar together. He truly loved his mom Misty. He always looked forward to his vacations in Florida with her. They had their own bond and love no one could compare to.

His stepsister Tiffany had a love-hate relationship — they would fight like cats and dogs, then be in the bathroom doing each other’s hair and her picking out his outfit. But they always took up for each other. He had a wonderful relationship with his siblings.

He had a special bond with his stepmom Brandy. They always looked out for each other and had so many wonderful times together.

He loved his uncle Jody. He always wanted to ride his bike just like him. They would talk for hours about bikes together.

He loved his mamaw, Sara. She told him he was her favorite grandson when he was a little boy, and Cody, being Cody, used this to torment his sister, telling her he was the favorite grandkid.

He loved all his family and friends. We are all left here to miss him every day, but we can find comfort knowing he is in heaven fishing with his papaw Billy Wayne and playing guitar with his papaw Harold.
